Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a Senior Distribution Engineer to lead design project teams for 2.4kV to 34.5kV overhead and underground distribution projects. You will guide design through construction, adapting the plan to budgets and client needs, and build strong client relationships.

Responsibilities include leading distribution packages, reviewing calculations, applying NESC standards, managing schedules and budgets, mentoring engineers, performing QA/QC, conducting field inspections, and

Qualifications

• ABET accredited engineering degree required with 7 years of distribution experience.
• Master's degree available as alternative path with 6 years experience.
• PE license preferred; FE exam completed as alternative credential.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of distribution packages for overhead and underground projects.
• Review calculations: cable pulling, voltage drop, pole loading.
• Apply NESC and utility standards; develop project schedules and budgets.
• Mentor engineers and perform QA/QC reviews of deliverables.
• Lead field inspections and prepare technical reports for clients.
• Develop proposals and qualify statements; support sales efforts.
