Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Columbus, OH is seeking a Staff Distribution Engineer to join project teams designing distribution systems from 2.4kV to 34.5kV for overhead and underground facilities. You will develop voltage packages, prepare design sketches, cost estimates, BOQ, and other deliverables while adapting designs to budget and client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program and 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related Engineering Technology degree from ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the FE exam and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Or Master's degree in Engineering with 2 years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare distribution voltage packages for overhead and underground projects.
• Prepare design sketches, cost estimates, bill of materials, and other deliverables.
• Perform distribution calculations including cable pulling, voltage drop, and pole loading.
• Apply knowledge of NESC standards and utility procedures.
• Conduct field inspections for overhead and underground facilities.
• Develop client presentations, reports and visualizations.
• Comply with policies and standards.
