Confluent, a leading data streaming platform, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. You will drive the design and implementation of high-performance services, spanning storage engines, multi-tenant controls, and developer tooling.

You will work across the stack with Java, Go, C/C++, and Python, shipping reliable, scalable systems and contributing to operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, building, and scaling backend systems in production.
• Strong coding practices, code reviews, and solid documentation.
• Experience with distributed systems and storage concepts.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end execution of complex technical projects.
• Build backend services that are scalable and reliable.
• Troubleshoot issues in a microservices/containers stack.
• Ensure availability and performance SLAs for customers.
