Job summary

Confluent is seeking a Senior Engineer for WarpStream, a Kafka-compatible streaming platform. Work on storage engine, scalable control plane, and features like transactions and multi-region clusters, across AWS, GCP and Azure. The team is fully remote with distributed engineers in multiple countries, including the USA.

You will solve complex distributed systems problems at scale and ship high-performance services while supporting customers and developer tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, building, scaling and supporting backend systems in production.
• Strong programming and algorithmic skills across major languages.
• Experience with distributed storage and systems engineering.
• Proven delivery focus with clear communication and documentation.
• Operational excellence for large production services.

Responsibilities

• Independently drive end-to-end execution of complex technical projects.
• Build mission-critical backend services delivering value to customers.
• Architect, design, develop and operationalize high-performance, scalable services.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues inside a deep stack of microservices, containers, and virtualization.
• Ensure service readiness and meet availability and performance SLAs.
