Job summary

CrowdStrike, Inc. is seeking an engineer to build and maintain scalable data infrastructure and tools for the OverWatch Labs (OWL) team. You will work on next-generation security platform components that process trillions of events per day.

Ideal candidates have strong foundations in algorithms, software development, and operational research, with experience in Go or Python and cloud environments like AWS. This is a remote, globally distributed team offering impact and growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience.
• Experience with Golang or another language for developing web backends and pipelines.
• Built web-services with data processing pipelines and relational/noSQL databases (Redis, Postgres, Cassandra, Elasticsearch).
• Understanding messaging/queueing software; Kafka helpful but not required.
• Linux skills with large-scale Linux environments.
• Understanding of distributed systems and AWS cloud environments.
• Thrives in fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative programming environments.
• Knowledge of engineering best practices and peer code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with OverWatch engineering to build, develop, and maintain operational systems, projects, and tools.
• Extend the current system by building new components and improving the platform for analysis and hunting.
• Bring research projects into production environments and integrate them with OWL systems.
• Work in a DevOps environment with on-call responsibilities.
• Take ownership and be accountable for deliverables.
• Aim for high quality and establish tools and processes to reach that level.
• Be adaptable and tackle complex, novel challenges.
• Contribute to open source projects and communities.
• Collaborate within a distributed team across time zones.
