Job summary

The Providence Housing Authority seeks a Lead Dispatcher to manage the 24-hour dispatch operation for facilities management. You will coordinate maintenance requests, answer calls, and ensure timely response to residents and staff while supervising dispatch activities and maintaining accurate records.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of dispatcher experience in a public housing environment, strong typing skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, confidential setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must understand English; Spanish ability preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ dispatcher experience in public housing or related agency.
• Strong typing and word processing skills (40 WPM) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform dispatch services and coordinate actions to provide services to residents, staff, police, fire, and the public.
• Receive and accurately record all incoming calls and log work orders in the system.
• Coordinate maintenance requests and supervise multi-shift dispatch activities.
• Assist in training dispatchers and maintain confidentiality; design reports and PHMAP data extracts.
