Job summary

Providence Housing Authority is seeking a Lead/Dispatcher in Facilities Management to handle dispatch and telephone answering for 24-hour service. The role coordinates maintenance requests from staff, residents and the public, monitors dispatch activities, and ensures timely action with PHA personnel and outside agencies.

The position requires a high school diploma and 3 years’ dispatcher experience in a public housing or related setting, with English fluency and Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs dispatch services and coordinates actions to provide maintenance and information to residents, staff, police/fire departments and the public.
• Receives and accurately records all incoming calls.
• Responds promptly to coordinate with appropriate personnel (PHA staff, police, fire or outside agencies).
• Maintains the DPS work order system data files and generates reports.
• Designs report queries and generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
