Job summary

The Greater Austin YMCA is seeking a Senior Director of Youth Development to lead the organization, delivery, and quality of afterschool and camp programs for members and the community. You will supervise Program Directors, hire and train staff, and collaborate with senior leaders to achieve outcomes.

You will support DEIB initiatives and ensure compliance with Texas health and licensing standards, while guiding program strategy, budgeting, and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
• 2+ years of Youth Development professional experience including staff management.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
• HHSC Program Director certification; CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a team of full‑time Program Directors and oversee staff development.
• Oversee daily program operations at multiple childcare sites, ensuring staff adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Evaluate program quality and identify opportunities for improvement and staff development.
• Lead field trip planning for summer camp and manage seasonal camps as assigned.
• Manage program budgets in collaboration with leadership and participate in annual budget process.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with principals, parents, staff, participants, and licensing representatives.
