Position Summary

This role is crucial in developing and executing BMS's global medical strategy within our Oncology portfolio. The WW Medical Oncology Medical Product Lead (MPL) is a strategic leader overseeing responsibilities across the Worldwide Medical organization, providing medical insights, interpreting tumor landscapes, and disseminating clinical data. The MPL develops aligned medical strategies, executes core medical deliverables such as Integrated Evidence Plans, Scientific Narratives, and External Engagement plans, leading the cross-functional Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team. The Senior Director, MPL, manages multiple assets across indications, navigating complex issues within a broad matrix to ensure optimal medical affairs strategy execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global medical strategies for key assets, reporting to the Thoracic and Head & Neck Disease Area Head within WW Medical Oncology.
• Lead the AIMS team around assets like Adagrasib, Repotrectinib, and Atigotatug, shaping global medical strategies.
• Position and develop assets within BMS's disease area strategy, aligning with enterprise needs.
• Participate in senior leadership meetings to influence broader initiatives and drive business priorities.
• Oversee asset development across tumor types, aligning with development plans and commercialization frameworks.
• Develop and implement scientific narratives, medical insights, and strategic directions for communication and internal alignment.
• Manage Integrated Evidence Plans, identifying evidence gaps and supporting execution through various research collaborations.
• Ensure effective delivery of Medical Communications plans, including publications and educational initiatives.
• Collaborate with departments like R&D, Regulatory, and HEOR to ensure proper understanding and communication of science.
• Support portfolio alignment through leadership and cross-collaboration with other disease teams.
• Represent assets at senior meetings, contribute to business development, and promote operational excellence within teams.
• Engage with external thought leaders, manage external collaborations, and develop access programs for pre-launch assets.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring compliance and strategic resource allocation.
• Mentor and coach team members, managing matrix team members and providing leadership across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare (MD, PharmD, PhD) required.
• At least 7+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Oncology Medical Affairs or Clinical Research.
• Strong analytical, scientific interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent strategic, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, with leadership qualities and international travel capability (~20%).
