Position Summary

This role is vital in shaping and implementing BMS's global medical strategy within Oncology. The WW Medical Oncology Medical Product Lead (MPL) is a strategic leader with broad responsibilities across the Worldwide Medical organization, leading cross-functional teams to interpret tumor landscapes and disseminate clinical data. The MPL is accountable for developing aligned medical strategies, executing core deliverables like Evidence Plans, Scientific Narratives, and External Engagement plans. The Senior Director, MPL oversees multiple assets across indications in Oncology, navigating complex issues within a broad matrix to ensure optimal medical strategies are executed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute global medical strategies for key assets, reporting to the Disease Area Head within WW Medical Oncology.
2. Represent the global program teams for assigned assets.
3. Shape and align medical strategies with enterprise needs, leading the Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team.
4. Participate in senior leadership meetings to influence broader initiatives.
5. Oversee development of assets across multiple tumor types, aligning with development plans and commercialization frameworks.
6. Develop and implement medical strategies, scientific narratives, and communication plans ensuring alignment across global markets.
7. Manage Integrated Evidence Plans to identify evidence gaps and support unmet needs, including research and clinical collaborations.
8. Lead global medical communication strategies, including publications and educational initiatives.
9. Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory, HEOR, and other departments to ensure scientific understanding and communication.
10. Support portfolio alignment and external engagement with thought leaders and stakeholders.
11. Represent assets at senior meetings, drive operational excellence, and ensure effective resource utilization.
12. Manage external partnerships and collaborations, ensuring compliance and impact.
13. Mentor and coach team members and leads within the matrix structure.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare (MD, PharmD, PhD).
2. At least 7+ years in pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Oncology Medical Affairs or Clinical Research.
3. Strong analytical, scientific, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
4. Excellent strategic thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
5. Willingness to travel approximately 20%.
