Position Summary

This role is crucial in shaping and executing BMS's global medical strategy within our Oncology portfolio. The WW Medical Oncology Medical Product Lead (MPL) is a strategic leader responsible for providing medical insights, developing medical strategies, and leading cross-functional teams to interpret tumor landscapes and disseminate clinical data. The MPL oversees multiple assets across various indications in Oncology, ensuring effective strategy development and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global medical strategies for key assets.
  • Lead the cross-functional Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team.
  • Ensure assets are aligned with the overall disease area strategy.
  • Participate in senior leadership meetings to align on broader initiatives.
  • Oversee development of assets across tumor types, aligning with development plans and commercialization frameworks.
  • Create and execute scientific narratives, medical insights, and communication strategies.
  • Manage integrated evidence plans to address unmet needs and support evidence generation.
  • Lead global medical communication plans, including publications and educational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure proper understanding and communication of scientific data.
  • Represent assets in senior-level meetings and support business development activities.
  • Drive operational excellence within matrix teams and share best practices.
  • Provide updates to leadership and ensure alignment across functions.
  • Engage with external thought leaders and manage external collaborations.
  • Develop access programs for pre-launch assets, ensuring equitable access.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Mentor and coach team members, leading across teams and managing dotted-line reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare (MD, PharmD, PhD).
  • At least 7 years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Oncology Medical Affairs or Clinical Research.
  • Strong analytical, scientific interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinking, decision-making, and planning abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, organized, motivated, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Position based in HQ with approximately 20% travel.
