Position Summary

This role is crucial in developing and executing BMS's global medical strategy within our Oncology portfolio. The WW Medical Oncology Medical Product Lead (MPL) is a strategic leader responsible for providing medical insights, interpreting tumor landscapes, and disseminating clinical data. The MPL develops aligned medical strategies and manages core medical deliverables, leading the cross-functional Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team. The Senior Director, MPL oversees multiple assets across indications, navigating complex issues to ensure effective medical affairs strategies.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will develop and execute the Global Medical Affairs strategy for key assets, reporting to the Thoracic and Head & Neck Disease Area Head within WW Medical Oncology. Responsibilities include:

• Representing core medical perspectives in global program teams.
• Leading the development of global medical strategies for assets like Adagrasib, Repotrectinib, and Atigotatug.
• Aligning assets within BMS's disease area strategies and enterprise needs.
• Participating in senior leadership meetings to influence broader initiatives.
• Overseeing asset development across multiple tumor types.
• Developing scientific narratives and strategic medical communication plans.
• Managing evidence plans, identifying gaps, and supporting global execution.
• Leading medical communication strategies, including publications and educational initiatives.
• Collaborating with R&D, Regulatory, HEOR, and other departments to ensure proper communication of science.
• Supporting portfolio alignment and representing assets in senior meetings.
• Driving operational excellence within matrix teams and sharing best practices.
• Providing updates to leadership and collaborating with commercialization and external partners.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with key thought leaders and external stakeholders.
• Developing access programs for pre-launch assets.
• Managing budgets and resources effectively.
• Mentoring and coaching team members and managing matrix team members.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare (MD, PharmD, PhD).
• At least 7+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Oncology Medical Affairs or Clinical Research.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with effective collaboration across functions.
• Excellent strategic, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and capable of managing risks.
• Position is HQ-based with approximately 20% travel required.
