Position Summary

This role is vital in developing and executing BMS's global medical strategy within our Oncology portfolio. The WW Medical Oncology Medical Product Lead (MPL) is a strategic leader responsible for providing medical insights, interpreting tumor landscapes, and disseminating clinical data across the organization. The MPL develops aligned medical strategies, executes core medical deliverables, and leads the cross-functional Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team. The Senior Director, MPL, oversees multiple assets across indications and collaborates across complex teams to ensure effective medical affairs strategy development and execution.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of global Medical Affairs strategies for key assets. Reporting to the Thoracic and Head & Neck Disease Area Head within WW Medical Oncology, responsibilities include:

  1. Representing core medical perspectives in global program teams.
  2. Leading the AIMS team to shape global medical strategies for assets like Adagrasib, Repotrectinib, and Atigotatug.
  3. Ensuring assets are well-positioned within BMS's disease area strategies.
  4. Participating in senior leadership meetings to align on broader initiatives.
  5. Overseeing asset development across tumor types, aligning with development plans and commercialization frameworks.
  6. Developing and executing global medical strategies, scientific narratives, and communication plans.
  7. Managing evidence plans to address unmet needs and support evidence generation activities.
  8. Leading global medical communications, including publications and educational initiatives.
  9. Collaborating with other departments to ensure proper understanding and communication of scientific data.
  10. Supporting portfolio alignment and representing assets in high-level meetings.
  11. Driving operational excellence within matrix teams and sharing best practices.
  12. Providing updates to leadership and collaborating with commercialization and external partners.
  13. Establishing and maintaining relationships with thought leaders and external stakeholders.
  14. Developing access programs for pre-launch assets to ensure equitable access.
  15. Managing budgets and resources effectively.
  16. Mentoring and coaching team members and managing cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare (MD, PharmD, PhD).
  • At least 7 years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Oncology Medical Affairs or Clinical Research.
  • Strong analytical, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent strategic, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work internationally with travel approximately 20%.
