Position Summary

This role is critical in developing and executing BMS's global medical strategy within Oncology. The WW Medical Oncology Medical Product Lead (MPL) is a strategic leader overseeing responsibilities across the Worldwide Medical organization, providing medical insights, interpreting tumor landscapes, and disseminating clinical data. The MPL develops aligned medical strategies and executes core deliverables, including Evidence Plans, Scientific Narratives, and External Engagement plans, leading the cross-functional Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team. The Senior Director, MPL manages multiple assets across indications, navigating complex issues to ensure optimal medical affairs strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the global medical strategy for key assets, reporting to the Thoracic and Head & Neck Disease Area Head.
• Lead the Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team for assets like Adagrasib, Repotrectinib, and Atigotatug.
• Ensure assets are aligned with overall disease area strategies and enterprise needs.
• Participate in senior leadership meetings to influence broader initiatives.
• Oversee development across tumor types, aligning with development plans and commercialization frameworks.
• Create and implement medical strategies, scientific narratives, and communication plans, ensuring alignment across global markets.
• Manage Integrated Evidence Plans, identifying evidence gaps and supporting execution through various research collaborations.
• Oversee Medical Communications plans, including publications and educational initiatives.
• Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory, HEOR, and other departments to ensure clear communication of product science.
• Support portfolio alignment and development strategy across disease areas.
• Represent assets at senior meetings, contribute to business development, and promote operational excellence within teams.
• Coordinate with commercialization, GDD, and Access to integrate medical insights into development and marketing plans.
• Maintain relationships with external thought leaders, advisory boards, and participate in congresses and symposia.
• Develop managed access programs for pre-launch assets, ensuring equitable access globally.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring compliance.
• Lead and mentor teams, managing matrix relationships and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare (MD, PharmD, PhD).
• At least 7+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with experience in Oncology and Medical Affairs or Clinical Research.
• Strong analytical, scientific interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent strategic, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% for international/domestic purposes.
