Job summary

BD is seeking a Sr. Director, US Manufacturing – SM to lead and direct all manufacturing sites in the US for the Specimen Management business. This senior leader will drive plant performance, cost improvements, customer service, inventory management, and long-range capacity planning.

Reporting to the VP ISC, MDS, the role oversees two US sites (Broken Bow, NE and Sumter, SC) and collaborates across BD functions to deploy global strategies and optimize operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS/BA required; Engineering concentration preferred.
• MBA preferred.
• Fifteen (15) years direct experience in operations leadership.
• Plant Management experience required; experience leading multiple facilities.
• Demonstrated ability to drive transformational change, including improvement in high-speed lines and manual operations.
• Hands on experience in supply planning, SIOP/IBP, ERP, MRP.

Responsibilities

• Translate BU/Platforms strategy into a global Integrated Supply Chain strategy.
• Foster continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and manufacturing best practices.
• Drive lean thinking/manufacturing concepts across the network to improve end-to-end value streams.
• Lead and model BD Excellence program across the manufacturing network.
• Ensure capex strategy supports long-term BU growth plans.
• Oversee inventory objectives and service-level goals across sites.
• Lead end-to-end ISC performance, with day-to-day oversight of manufacturing operations.
