Job summary

Howard University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks an Associate Director of Admission to lead undergraduate recruitment efforts and travel strategy within an assigned region. The role supervises admission staff, tracks enrollment metrics, and represents the university to high school and college audiences.

Qualifications

• Masters preferred; Bachelors required in any field.
• 10+ years working in undergraduate admission.
• 5 years managerial experience.
• Strong understanding of the admission cycle, application review process, student recruitment and key industry metrics.
• Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives and planning recruitment travel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic technology.
• Experience with Technolutions Slate; Workday Student experience preferred.
• Ability to travel both weekdays and weekends- valid driver’s license and passport.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current and historical enrollment trends across territories to develop a strategy that serves enrollment goals.
• Develop and implement a national recruitment plan through market analysis, outreach, and partnerships.
• Manage, train, and develop a team of admission counselors.
• Evaluate ROI on travel and recruiting expenses.
• Meet yearly enrollment goals for the assigned territory.
• Provide input on staff and departmental issues for senior leadership.
• Deliver an excellent customer service experience with a student-centered approach.
