Job summary

Howard University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking an Associate Director to lead undergraduate recruitment efforts and manage a team of admission officers. The role develops and executes the recruitment and travel strategy in an assigned region and tracks enrollment progress toward goals.

The position represents the university to prospective students, high schools, and professional organizations, with 40 hours/week on campus and travel required.

Qualifications

• Masters preferred; Bachelors required in any field.
• 10+ years working in undergraduate admission.
• 5 years managerial experience.
• Strong understanding of the admission cycle and metrics.
• Experience with strategic recruitment travel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze enrollment trends to develop strategies meeting goals.
• Recommend process and recruitment improvements to leadership.
• Develop a national recruitment plan through market analysis and networking.
• Manage, train, and develop a team of admission counselors.
• Evaluate ROI on travel and recruiting expenses.
• Recruit students within a defined territory from inquiry to enrollment.
• Meet yearly enrollment goals for the territory.
• Travel as needed; maintain ethical, proactive decision-making.
• Provide excellent customer service and a student-centered approach.
