Howard University seeks an innovative Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions to lead recruitment, admission, and matriculation efforts for diverse, well-qualified students. The role partners with deans, chairs, and external organizations to meet enrollment goals and drive strategic marketing and outreach.

The position requires travel and often evening/weekend responsibilities, with proficiency in Slate preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters preferred; Bachelors required in any field.
• 10+ years working in undergraduate admission
• 5 years managerial experience
• Strong understanding of the admission cycle, application review process, student recruitment and key industry metrics
• Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives and planning recruitment travel
• Skill in leading and managing a results-oriented team of recruitment and admissions professionals
• Professional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present information to a wide range of constituents, including senior organizational leaders, public groups, and people from diverse cultures and worldviews
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic technology
• Experience with Technolutions Slate, Argos and Banner
• Ability to travel both weekdays and weekends- valid driver’s license and passport

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain partnerships to increase undergraduate enrollment.
• Lead an outward-facing enrollment team to recruit and yield diverse students.
• Develop strategies to engage prospective students and tracking tools (Slate).
• Track and report admission metrics to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with campus partners to drive enrollment.
• Coordinate with Deans, Chairs, and faculty to resolve issues and support student goals.
• Work with marketing to execute a comprehensive enrollment plan.
• Serve on university committees to support persistence and graduation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Offices of Enrollment Systems, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Affairs.
• Travel for recruitment and events.
