Job summary

Quanta Government Solutions is seeking a Director of Engineering - Transmission Line to lead a team responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of high-voltage transmission and substation projects. This role focuses on safety, quality, efficiency, and innovation to deliver reliable grid infrastructure.

The Director will manage engineers and technical staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• P.E. license required.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical professionals.
• Establish and maintain a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Foster an inclusive work environment with diverse perspectives.
• Oversee planning, design and execution of transmission and substation projects within regulatory requirements.
• Develop project budgets, schedules and resource plans to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Manage risks and resolve issues impacting scope, quality and delivery.
• Provide technical guidance for design and optimization of transmission and substation systems.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies and regulatory changes.
• Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory standards are met in all activities.
• Contribute to strategic plans and objectives in transmission and substation infrastructure.
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and technologies to enhance competitiveness.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance and Regulatory Affairs to align engineering initiatives with business goals.
• Build strong relationships with customers, regulators, contractors and suppliers.
• Represent the company at industry events and regulatory meetings.
