Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority invites applications for the Senior Director, Track Design and Specifications. This role leads track engineering staff, reviews designs for capital projects, and supports maintenance to ensure safety and reliability of NYCT infrastructure.

A New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
Ten (10) years of professional experience.
Five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience/

Responsibilities

Develop Track Engineering Standards, Drawings, and Specifications.
Research and develop new track components. Provide engineering assistance to MTA Capital Projects to ensure that NYCT and AREMA standards and guidelines are met.
Represents NYCT and actively participates at AREMA meetings.
Provide direct support required to keep NYCT system s operable and maintainable to ensure safety, availability and on-time reliability of NYCT equipment.
Responsible for creating policies and procedures for Track Engineering unit.
Be prepared to react/respond to emergencies and other critical occurrences 24/7.
Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures and compliance with engineering quality control standards, NYCT policies, and safety standards.
