Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Special Track Inspector to perform technical inspections of track work and related materials for MTA/NYCT projects on site in the New York area.

The role requires five years of rail inspection experience, ability to read engineering drawings, and knowledge of AWS and ASNT techniques; preferred candidates hold an associate degree in engineering and familiarity with AREMA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in special track inspections or related QA roles.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of AWS and ASNT inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous castings and forgings, when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect special track work manufactured to Authority drawings and specifications.
• Verify precise dimensions, clearances, and quality requirements.
• Inspect track materials, including nuts, bolts, washers, steel fastener plates, shims, clips, screw spikes, and related components.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
• Identify and document nonconforming materials.
• Prepare inspection reports and support material acceptance decisions.
