Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) NYC Transit seeks a Senior Director of Track Design and Specifications to lead track engineering staff across capital projects and maintenance initiatives. You’ll design track, evaluate field conditions, and oversee detailed drawings while providing on-site support for installations.

The role requires a NY PE license, civil/mechanical engineering degree, and a track-record of 10+ years in professional engineering with 5+ years in management.

Qualifications

• A New York State PE license is required.
• Baccalaureate in Civil or Mechanical Eng or equivalent.
• Ten years of professional engineering experience.
• Five years of managerial/supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop Track Engineering Standards, Drawings, and Specifications.
• Support NYCT capital projects ensuring AREMA/AREMA guidelines compliance.
• Represent NYCT at AREMA meetings and provide engineering input.
• Maintain safe, reliable NYCT track systems and equipment.
• Create policies for the Track Engineering unit.
• Be prepared for 24/7 emergency responses.
• Ensure policy adherence and quality control standards.
