Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a Senior Director of Track Design and Specifications to lead track engineering staff in reviewing designs for capital projects and supporting maintenance activities.

The role oversees professional engineers in surveys, track design, and special work elements for new track, reconstruction, and maintenance, including on-site support and coordination with AREMA standards.

Qualifications

• New York State PE license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ten years of professional experience.
• Five years of managerial/supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop Track Engineering Standards, Drawings, and Specifications.
• Research and develop new track components and ensure AREMA/AREMA guidelines are met.
• Represent NYCT and participate in AREMA meetings.
• Provide engineering support to keep NYCT systems operable and reliable.
• Create policies and procedures for Track Engineering unit.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies 24/7.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and quality control standards.
