Job summary

Lilly, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, is expanding with a new Lebanon, IN manufacturing site. The Senior Director of Technical Services/Manufacturing Science will provide strategic and operational leadership for startup, process validation, and inspection readiness for small molecules or peptides, ensuring cGMP compliance and timely startup of new production lines.

You will build technical excellence, mentor leaders, manage cross-functional partnerships, and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or a related field.
• 15+ years in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing with leadership in TS/MS or similar department.
• Large scale manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop the strategic direction for the Lebanon site for medium and long term.
• Lead all TS/MS activities for small molecule or peptide operations, including new product introduction and optimization.
• Develop and execute strategic and operational plans for TS/MS aligned with site and corporate goals.
• Ensure validated state of all processes and compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements.
• Build strong technical partnerships with SMDD, Global TSMS, and other global functions.
• Oversee preparation and timely completion of technical documentation and reports.
• Provide leadership in technical problem-solving, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach and mentor team members, ensuring resource allocation and capability development.
• Represent TS/MS in cross-functional governance and strategic decision-making forums.
