Job summary

Lilly in Lebanon, Indiana is constructing a cutting-edge manufacturing site for gene therapy and next-generation modalities. The Senior Director of Engineering leads the site engineering function, including process engineering, automation, maintenance, utilities, plant and project engineering, and engineering competencies.

They report to the Site Head as part of the Lead Team, guiding strategic direction and organizational development to support GMP operations and startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in pharmaceutical operations with cGMP knowledge.
• Direct experience in Drug Substance or Drug Product manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Be a collaborative, inclusive leader to build capability, capacity and culture at the site.
• Define site engineering priorities and roadmaps to run GMP operations.
• Serve on the site HSE Lead Team, ensuring safety focus during project delivery and startup.
• Support the project team to deliver the facility and startup plan with sound design decisions.
• Develop and adapt organizational structure for full-scale GMP manufacturing.
• Ensure systems are in place to establish qualified, safe state for equipment, processes, and facilities.
• Build relationships with corporate departments and sponsors of strategic initiatives.
