Job summary

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and four years of progressively responsible experience in a large governmental or similar organization, with at least one year in an administrative or managerial capacity.

Qualifications

• Requires a baccalaureate degree and four years of progressively responsible experience in a large governmental agency or similar setting, including one year at managerial level.
• Graduate education or license may substitute for up to three years of experience but not for the one year in management described above.
• A master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience; graduate credits may substitute for up to three years; Licensure may substitute for three years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shelter operations for adult, family, and mixed populations to ensure 24/7 coverage across five boroughs.
• Lead administration and management functions within DHS to improve service delivery and outcomes.
• Coordinate with city agencies and nonprofits to re-house clients and provide supportive programming.
• Ensure compliance with civil service requirements and promote equity in service delivery.
