Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development for Satellites (TS/SCI). Based in Chantilly, VA, you will drive growth in the satellite market, focusing on national security opportunities.

Lead capture, build strategic partnerships, and win large government and civil space contracts. You will collaborate with engineering and operations to tailor solutions, guide proposals, and manage relationships with agencies and primes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in business development, program management, or systems engineering in aerospace.
• In-depth knowledge of government acquisition processes and national security.
• Proven track record securing large contracts (> $20M) and managing strategic relationships.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead satellite defense business development initiatives.
• Develop capture strategies for large defense civil space contracts.
• Engage stakeholders to build long-term relationships with customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compelling proposals.
• Monitor industry trends to adapt strategies.
• Grow opportunities with existing customers.
• Create new opportunities by presenting Rocket Lab capabilities.
• Lead or participate in proposal activities and content generation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for alignment and efficiency.
