Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior leader to own Reg E compliance and end-to-end risk operations across Gusto Wallet and related products.

You will define governance, SLAs, reporting, and controls, while partnering with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Risk to drive transformation.

This role requires experience with real-time decisioning, sponsor bank relations, audit readiness, and scaling AI-native solutions across multiple financial services lines.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of industry experience leading financial services operations
• 7+ years as a departmental leader running large, multi-disciplinary teams
• Deep expertise in Reg E dispute processing and BSA/AML operational response
• Hands-on experience building fraud operations and real-time payment risk
• Operational background in consumer banking or digital wallet products
• Experience standing up regulated financial functions with governance and reporting
• Experience navigating sponsor bank and regulatory relationships and audit readiness
• Experience leading high-stakes, real-time financial decisions with material consequences
• Experience building scalable AI-native operations in regulated domains
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Risk
• Track record of delivering for multiple senior partners across overlapping product lines
• Ability to lead through significant organizational change
• Empathetic and employee-focused leadership with inclusive team-building

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end risk and operations for Reg E, BSA/AML, and fraud initiatives
• Lead a multi-disciplinary regulated financial services organization through senior leaders
• Define governance, metrics, SLAs, reporting infrastructure, and audit readiness
• Own real-time decisioning on payroll, disputes, fraud signals, and fund recovery
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Risk on readiness and priorities
• Represent risk functions with sponsor banks, regulators, and auditors
