Gusto is seeking a seasoned leader to own Risk & Money Services, overseeing fraud ops, dispute processing, and consumer money products. You will drive governance, SLAs, and regulatory compliance across a multi-functional team, partnering with Compliance, Legal, Engineering, and Product.

Qualifications

• 12+ years leading financial services operations in regulated domains
• 7+ years as a department leader managing multi-disciplinary teams
• Deep expertise in banking and money movement operations (Reg E, BSA/AML)
• Experience with fraud and payment risk and real-time decisioning
• Experience with consumer financial products and related controls
• Track record standing up formal regulated functions (SLAs, controls, governance)
• Experience navigating sponsor bank and regulatory relationships
• Ability to lead high-stakes, real-time financial decisions
• Experience building AI-native operations in regulated domains
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Risk

Responsibilities

• Own Risk & Money Services end to end, including fraud and payment risk decisioning, compliance, and operations
• Lead a multi-disciplinary regulated financial services organization through leaders who own their functions end to end
• Stand up Risk & Money Services as a defined operational function with governance, metrics, SLAs, and reporting
• Manage real-time financial decisions with material impact for customers and the business
• Lead Reg E compliance posture and dispute obligations in partnership with Compliance and Legal
• Oversee BSA/AML operational response and investigation activities
• Build operational infrastructure for Gusto Wallet and other consumer money products
• Drive AI-native transformation while maintaining regulatory accountability
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Risk to align operations with product roadmaps
• Represent Risk & Money Services with sponsor banks, regulators, and auditors
• Create playbooks and controls for new financial products and growth
