Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Director of Finance to lead program finance and the FP&A function across multiple propulsion programs.

The role reports to the President and oversees P&L, cost, bookings, and cash, with EAC/ETC, EVM, and long-range planning as core responsibilities.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in aerospace/defense finance, deep ERP and BI experience, and a track record building top-tier finance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership in aerospace/defense/space.
• Mastery of program economics, government and commercial aerospace contracting, CAS, FAR, milestones, EAC/ETC.
• Executive presence serving as advisor to C-suite and leaders in high-velocity environments.
• Systems & Analytics: ERP/planning tools (Deltek Costpoint, SAP) + BI tools (Anaplan, Power BI, Excel).
• Leadership & Team Building: scaling finance teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Act as financial copilot to the President, translating milestones into financial targets and risks.
• Lead program finance across product lines with P&L, bookings, backlog, revenue, margins, and cash.
• Direct EAC/ETC cadence across major development and production programs.
• Implement and monitor EVM with CPI/SPI alignment.
• Lead long-range planning, budgeting, and scenario modeling across units.
• Partner on complex proposals, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations (FFP, CPFF/CPIF).
• Modernize reporting infrastructure using Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Anaplan, Power BI.
• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
• Ensure internal controls and GAAP/FAR/CAS compliance across forecasts.
