Job summary

Good Roots is seeking a Sr. Director of People & Talent to lead the People function for a fully remote US-based workforce.

As the sole HR professional on the leadership team, you will drive enterprise-scale people strategy, built on strong governance, compliance, and scalable systems. You will partner with the CEO and executives to strengthen organizational effectiveness, develop and retain talent, and manage employment risk while owning end-to-end HR operations in a lean, distributed

Qualifications

• Senior HR experience advising executives and delivering HR operations.
• Experience across multi-state employment, compliance, and policy administration.
• Ability to develop people strategy and handle confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Own integrated people strategy aligned with business priorities and culture.
• Independently administer day-to-day HR operations with minimal support.
• Maintain compliance across U.S. work locations and coordinate with counsel.
• Lead talent acquisition, workforce planning and succession planning.
• Manage performance, employee relations, and investigations as needed.
• Oversee compensation, benefits, equity, and vendor relationships.
• Drive learning, leadership development, and remote employee experience.
• Own HRIS, analytics, data quality, and privacy controls.
• Set annual people priorities and manage the HR budget.
