Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment partners with an established construction business investing in its MEP capabilities across the United States. We seek a Senior Director of MEP Business Development to identify, develop and convert major opportunities nationwide.

You will originate opportunities, leverage industry relationships, build a qualified pipeline and lead major pursuits from early engagement through award, influencing delivery strategy and geographic expansion.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Leadership experience within a major GC, EPC, mechanical contractor or MEP contractor.
• Strong network across the advanced manufacturing and/or mission-critical data center markets.
• Demonstrable experience originating and converting major construction opportunities.
• Established relationships with owners, developers, GCs, EPCs and other senior decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Develop growth strategy for MEP opportunities across data centers, semiconductor, battery, automotive, chemical and high-tech manufacturing.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, GCs, EPCs and other decision-makers.
• Identify major projects and position the business early in the project lifecycle.
• Create opportunities for negotiated, design-build, design-assist and strategically partnered work.
• Lead capture planning and pursuit strategy on major opportunities.
• Work with Preconstruction, Estimating and Operations on scope, pricing and win strategy.
• Participate in executive-level presentations, negotiations and commercial discussions.
• Assess opportunities based on revenue, margin, risk and operational capability.
• Provide market intelligence and pipeline forecasting to executive leadership.
• Support expansion into new geographic markets.
• Help determine delivery strategy including self-perform, subcontracted and strategic partnership models.
• Build out additional BD capability as the MEP business scales.
