GEICO is seeking a Director, Assistant Staff Counsel, to oversee multiple liability-focused Staff Counsel offices, driving leadership, accountability for business performance, and delivery of high-quality legal services.

The role partners with Staff Counsel leadership to implement initiatives, develop talent, and advance priorities that strengthen operations and consistency across offices nationwide.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury.
• Liability experience is required.
• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions and meet and maintain licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.
• Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time, or as required, to Staff Counsel offices, Regional locations, management meetings and conferences.

Responsabilités

• Interviews and/or approves job applicants for employment. Conducts and/or reviews associate performance appraisals.
• Identifies and analyzes complex issues, problems in management areas and recommends/implements solutions.
• Provides guidance on technical and procedural legal problems.
• Maintains knowledge base regarding changes in the law affecting Staff Counsel issues.
• Meets attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with subordinates and management.
