Job summary

University of Indianapolis is seeking a Director of Housing and Residence Life to provide strategic direction for six residence halls and three apartment communities. The role oversees professional staff, on‑call leadership, and budgeted operations, ensuring a cohesive residential experience that supports enrollment and student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Counseling, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years post-master’s progressive, full‑time professional experience in Residence Life and/or Housing Operations.
• Proven experience directly supervising full‑time professional staff.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex databases or housing software systems.
• Experience serving in an on‑call capacity and responding to campus emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and administrative vision for Housing and Residence Life, aligning operational systems with institutional priorities.
• Directly supervise, mentor, and evaluate professional staff, promoting growth and accountability.
• Formulate and execute multi‑year strategic plans and living‑learning strategies to enhance persistence, belonging, and retention.
• Lead departmental assessment with data-informed metrics on occupancy, satisfaction, and outcomes.
