The University of Indianapolis seeks a Director of Housing and Residence Life to lead the residential enterprise for 1,700 on-campus residents across six halls and three apartment communities.

You will supervise professional staff, develop strategic plans, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with federal and institutional policies, while providing on-call crisis support and fostering belonging and student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Counseling, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years post-master’s progressive, full-time professional experience in Residence Life and/or Housing Operations.
• Proven experience directly supervising full-time professional staff.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex databases or housing software systems.
• Experience serving in an on-call capacity and responding to campus emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic direction and administrative vision for Housing and Residence Life, aligning operational systems with institutional priorities.
• Directly supervise, mentor, and evaluate professional staff, promoting growth and accountability.
• Design multi-year strategic plans, policy frameworks, and living-learning initiatives to improve persistence and belonging.
• Lead assessment efforts with data-informed metrics on occupancy, satisfaction, facilities, and learning outcomes.
• Oversee housing contracts, rate setting, budgeting, and coordination with Facilities and IT to ensure data integrity and compliance.
