BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) to lead payer evidence strategies and patient-relevant outcomes across global markets.

This role partners with Value & Access, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and patient advocacy organizations to drive evidence that supports access and differentiation. Qualifications

• 12+ years of Pharma Industry experience with 7+ years in HEOR roles and 5+ years in patient-relevant outcomes research.
• Advanced degree in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, public health, or related scientific discipline.
• Deep understanding of market access, value and global HTA frameworks.
• Experience developing and executing patient-relevant outcomes strategies to meet payer/HTA requirements.
• Experience supporting HTA submissions, value dossiers, and patient-relevant briefing books.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across Value & Access, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, execution and communication of payer evidence strategies aligned with brand and Value & Access priorities for early-stage pipeline assets.
• Collaborate with Value & Access, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development & Regulatory Affairs & Patient Advocacy organizations.
• Drive understanding of payer and HTA requirements related to patient-relevant outcomes and health utility measurement.
• Lead patient-relevant outcomes strategy for HTA and access to support differentiation and value demonstration.
• Ensure payer evidence requirements are integrated into clinical development plans to enable patient access.
• Lead cross-functional, asset-specific patient-relevant outcomes strategies informed by disease models.
• Lead patient-relevant endpoint planning and oversee implementation within clinical trials.
• Lead early Joint Clinical Assessment strategy development, including cross-market access considerations.
• Assess payer evidence gaps and inform future integrated evidence planning for early-stage assets.
• Manage external partners in PRO development/validation, health state valuation, and patient preference research.
• Lead interactions with HTA agencies (EU NICE CADTH) including briefing materials and PRO endpoints packages.
• Support regulatory interactions and patient advocacy organizations.
• Shape scientific communication plans and publish research in peer-reviewed journals.
• Assess BD opportunities against payer/HTA requirements to identify risks and evidence gaps.
