Vertex is seeking a Senior Director of Hematology to lead field operations across the West, directing GTAM and HTM teams to execute national strategies for transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia and sickle cell disease programs. The role emphasizes coaching, strategic alignment, and cross-functional collaboration with treatment centers.

The incumbent will drive performance, optimize geographic coverage, and ensure compliant coordination among stakeholders while shaping patient-centric field

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.
• 12 years’ experience of the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7 years’ experience in healthcare industry.
• 3 years people management experience.
• Knowledge of cGMP, FDA compliance, and Mfr. guidelines.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams to coordinate and execute plans across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Executes national Hematology field strategy across centers and providers.
• Leads, coaches, develops, and manages field teams (GTAM/HTM).
• Ensures coordination between field teams to connect center engagement and patient journey.
• Translates priorities into clear field objectives and plans.
• Oversee day-to-day field execution and coaching.
• Provide feedback based on performance and insights.
• Builds team capability through onboarding and leadership development.
• Partners across stakeholders to deliver a consistent customer experience.
