Lilly in Indianapolis is seeking a skilled scientist to join SMDD’s incretin and peptide process chemistry team. You will lead LPPS and condensation chemistry development, mentor chemists, and drive greener process design for commercial scale peptide manufacturing.

This role collaborates with teams in the US, Asia, and Europe, supports transfer to Lilly’s Medicines Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana, and contributes to publications and internal forums.

Formación

• Ph.D. in Chemistry with 7+ years of pharma experience in peptide or synthetic process chemistry; or Ph.D. with 15+ years combined pharma/academic experience; or M.S. with 15+ years equivalent experience.
• Leadership in managing scientists and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with SPPS/LPPS and/or hybrid peptide synthesis at scale.
• Strong communication skills for technical and business audiences.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical direction on LPPS and condensation chemistry; mentor peptide chemists across programs.
• Coordinate technology transfer to Medicines Foundry (Lebanon, IN) for Phase 1–3 programs; collaborate with Manufacturing for scale-up.
• Educate CMO partners on greener peptide development and manufacture.
• Engage with Development and Manufacturing to drive process improvements and new initiatives.
• Implement green chemistry across development stages and publish innovations.
