Lilly in Indianapolis seeks outstanding engineers to design and develop chemical processes for small molecules, oligonucleotides, and peptides. You’ll work with chemists and other engineers to accelerate development from lab to manufacturing while complying with regulatory standards.

Candidates should hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering or an MSc/BSc with extensive process development experience, and be ready to mentor others. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and optimizing synthetic process manufacturing unit operations.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools, data analytics and predictive analytics.
• Experience in batch and continuous unit operations.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering fundamentals to design and optimize chemical processes for small molecules, oligonucleotides, and synthetic peptides.
• Design and execute lab experiments with reaction kinetics, heat/mass transfer, and process modeling.
• Develop proficiency across unit operations to assemble complete synthetic manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate on integrated commercialization teams from lab scale to manufacturing facilities.
• Operate in a regulated environment, adhering to SOPs and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with analytical, formulation, quality, regulatory, and safety teams for compliance.
• Oversee scale‑up and technology transfer to manufacturing sites via team meetings and site visits.
• Engage with literature and professional communities for continuous learning and dissemination.
