Job summary

Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. seeks a Senior Director of International Communications to lead franchise, brand and reputation storytelling across Europe, Asia, LATAM, and beyond.

You will align global strategy with regional plans, directing launches, live service momentum, and creator relationships at scale. The role requires building a high-caliber distributed team, driving strategic guidance, and managing complex cross-functional programs across time zones while influencing senior stakeholders

Qualifications

• 12+ years in communications or public relations, including 5+ years leading and developing teams across international markets.
• Willingness to work out of Blizzard HQ in Irvine, California. 3 days a week in office.
• Proven success building and executing brand, franchise, or product communications strategies internationally.
• Deep media, creator, and influencer relationships with credibility to guide senior spokespeople.
• Experience leading issues and crisis communications for a consumer brand with sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Strong strategic thinking paired with operational rigor, budgeting, and planning.
• Ability to work across a large, matrixed organization and time zones.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work across time zones with regional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the international communications strategy across franchises, brand, and reputation in multiple regions.
• Lead and grow a distributed team of regional communications leaders.
• Prioritize high-impact opportunities across markets and make clear recommendations.
• Provide leadership across launches, live operations, and seasonal momentum.
• Develop and deliver international PR campaigns, storytelling platforms, and media moments.
• Shape messaging frameworks and briefing materials for spokespeople in market.
• Build senior relationships with priority international media and influencers.
• Set creator and earned media strategy for prioritized franchises with clear KPIs.
• Partner with marketing, development, and support to influence plans and timing.
• Protect and strengthen brand reputation through proactive issues management.
