Hanwha Defense USA is seeking a Senior Director, Government Relations to conceptualize and execute a major portion of the company's federal government relations strategy. The role focuses on engaging Congress, federal agencies, and industry partners with an emphasis on defense matters.

The Senior Director will report to the Chief Strategy Officer and coordinate with executives to advance procurement opportunities and policy priorities at the national level.

Qualifikationen

• 15 years of professional experience in government relations, defense policy, or military legislative affairs.
• Proven network of contacts within the congressional defense committees and/or U.S. Army acquisition leadership.
• Strong understanding of federal legislative and regulatory processes, specifically focused on the NDAA and Defense Appropriations cycles.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area.

Aufgaben

• Strategic Advocacy: Design and implement legislative and executive branch strategy to create and sustain procurement opportunities for Army/Navy spaces.
• Congressional Engagement: Serve as liaison to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees and Appropriations Committees to reflect company priorities in NDAA and defense appropriations.
• Executive Branch Liaison: Work with business development to navigate the acquisition system and align capabilities with modernization priorities.
• Policy Leadership: Monitor budget cycles and defense policy shifts, providing actionable intelligence to executive leadership.
• Consultant Management: Manage outside consultants to magnify in-house government relations efforts.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with BD, communications and other functions to align activities with business objectives.
• Support Executive Leadership: Help senior leaders understand policy landscape and engage with cabinet-level officials.
