Job summary

Hanwha Defense USA in Arlington, VA seeks a Director of Supply Chain to lead production procurement for shipbuilding programs, establish strategic direction, and build a high‑performing procurement team across domestic and international operations.

You will drive supplier performance, manage complex contracts, ensure compliance with DFARS and Incoterms, and align procurement with Production, Engineering, Quality and Finance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading procurement in manufacturing, preferably defense/shipbuilding
• Proven ability to scale procurement and supply chain teams
• Strong contract negotiation and supplier management background
• Experience with DFARS and domestic sourcing requirements
• Knowledge of Incoterms and international transportation practices
• Experience with hazardous goods (IMDG) and import/export controls

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead procurement strategy for shipbuilding materials and equipment
• Oversee supplier sourcing, qualification, and performance management
• Director supply chain risk management and contingency planning
• Lead complex negotiations, long-term agreements, and cost-reduction initiatives
• Ensure on-time delivery, production material planning, and cross-functional alignment
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Compliance, and Finance to meet objectives
• Oversee international logistics, licensing, and vendor relationships
• Support defense procurement requirements including DFARS and domestic sourcing
