Job summary

Humana seeks an Associate Director, Software Engineering (Enterprise Performance Engineering) to lead a centralized team delivering performance testing, analysis, workload modeling, and capacity planning across enterprise solutions.

The role shapes performance engineering standards, tools, and best practices, partnering with Architecture, Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, and Product teams to ensure scalable, resilient, and high-performing systems. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or related field.
10+ years of experience in software/ performance engineering or related disciplines.
3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
Proven experience leading performance testing engagements for large-scale enterprise applications.
Hands-on experience with enterprise performance testing tools listed above.

Responsibilities

Lead execution of Humana's enterprise performance engineering strategy, roadmap, and operating model.
Establish and mature performance engineering standards, methodologies, and governance.
Lead a centralized performance engineering team across multiple business segments.
Drive adoption of performance engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Partner with architecture, engineering, and product teams to embed performance considerations into delivery.
