Job summary

Archer Aviation in San Jose, CA seeks a Director of Employee Relations to lead investigations and shape a fair, compliant ER program. You will build frameworks, partner with Legal, HR, and leadership to ensure thoughtful rigor and equitable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Employment Law, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and workplace investigations.
• Experience in high-growth technology, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated fast-paced environments is strongly preferred.
• Broad HR generalist foundation, with experience supporting performance management, onboarding/off-boarding, leave administration, and employment lifecycle matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead Workplace Investigations: Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into workplace matters and produce legally defensible findings.
• Design Investigations Program: Build and refine Archer's investigations program across People, Legal, and partner functions.
• Drive Learning From Cases: Translate case lessons into policy updates, control improvements, and training content.
• Own Documentation & Case Closure: Prepare reports, findings, and disciplinary recommendations; ensure complete records.
• Partner with Legal & Compliance: Work with Legal on investigations, agency charges, and regulatory matters.
• Develop & Govern ER Policies: Build ER policies, protocols, and case management practices.
• Advise & Coach Leaders: Serve as ER advisor on performance management, discipline, and sensitive matters.
• Build a Culture of Accountability: Train managers on policy compliance and conflict resolution.
• Build Metrics & Reporting: Track SLAs and case trends; report to Archer leadership.
• HR Generalist Partnership: Support HR processes when ER volume is lower.
