A leading company in the pet insurance sector is seeking a Senior Director of Data & Analytics to join its Startup leadership team. This pivotal role focuses on enhancing capabilities and strategic initiatives through data insights while managing a dedicated analytics team to streamline claims processes and improve service delivery. Established in 2021, Independence Pet Holdings (IPH) is a corporate holding company that manages a diverse and broad portfolio of modern pet health brands and services, including insurance, pet education, lost recovery services, and more throughout North America.
We believe pet insurance is more than a financial product and build solutions to simplify the pet parenting journey and help improve the well-being of pets. As a leading authority in the pet category, we operate with a full stack of resources, capital, and services to support pet parents. Our multi-brand and omni-channel approach includes our own insurance carrier, insurance brands and partner brands.
IPH is an innovater in the Pet Insurance space and has been working on an industry-first technology startup. Through this new company, IPH aims to disrupt the pet insurance space by bringing additional value to pet parents, veterinarians and insurers. We intend to streamline the claims process, improve veterinarians’ access to data and insights, and make pet insurance better for pet parents and outcomes better for their pets.
Job Summary:
IPH is seeking a Senior Director of Data & Analytics to serve as a member of the Startup leadership team. This leader will be responsible for developing new capabilities and insights to achieve critical strategic and operational priorities across departments. This role will report to the Chief Data Officer, and will partner with the Senior Leadership team to drive results for business unit strategic initiatives and align to the enterprise data strategy. This executive leader should have experience building analytic models and using system thinking and analytical skills to set strategic direction and enable transformation.
A key element of the role will be evaluating, recommending and implementing enhancements to our claims processing technology, and deriving insights and value from data that is available to IPH from partner veterinary clinics and insurers. Our goal is to lead the industry in this capability, leveraging AI to support test / learn and agile methods as an input to the ongoing evolution of our digital claims management capabilities and digital experience design.
It is our view that virtually all aspects of the organization may be improved by the effective sharing of insights. This leader will manage a small team of data & analytics experts who will serve as the authority for important business insights (e.g. taxonomies, data models, prediction models, claims message protocols, etc) and work in partnership with functional leaders to deploy these skilled resources to the highest problem-solving priorities in support of the IPH and startup strategy.
To be successful in this role, the Senior Director will need to be comfortable working in a startup environment, proactive, and eager to jump in and take ownership of issues that arise.
