Job summary

Mullins Mechanical seeks a Director of Construction to oversee a portfolio of large, complex projects in industrial and large commercial environments. You will provide executive oversight, shape strategy, and drive performance across projects with Project Executives and Project Controls support.

You will mentor senior leaders, ensure safety and quality standards, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in industrial or large commercial construction.
• Proven leadership of large-scale projects, multi-project portfolios, and teams.
• Full P&L accountability.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, contracts, and risk management.
• Proven ability to develop senior leaders and high-performing teams.
• Proficiency in construction management and financial reporting software.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Projects delivered safely, on schedule, and at or above planned margins.
• Strong utilization of Project Controls as an execution support system.
• High-performing Project Executives and project teams.
• Strong customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Predictable outcomes through disciplined execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for a portfolio of large, complex, and high-profile projects.
• Support Project Executives throughout all phases of work from pursuit through closeout and warranty.
• Establish and execute staffing plans, constructability reviews, and logistics plans across projects.
• Lead executive-level project reviews and intervene when performance deviates from plan.
• Maintain full P&L responsibility for all assigned projects.
• Oversee forecasting, margin performance, contingency, change strategy, and cash flow.
• Review financial performance and guide recovery planning for underperforming projects.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Project Executives.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, safety and quality standards.
