Job summary

Mullins Mechanical, a leader in industrial and large commercial mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC construction, seeks a Director of Construction to oversee a portfolio of high‑profile projects. You will guide project executives, maintain full P&L responsibility, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across facilities in manufacturing, distribution, and automotive sectors.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, proven leadership, and certifications such as SPMP/PMP/CCM or OSHA 30.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in industrial/large commercial construction with leadership of multi-project portfolios.
• Proven full P&L accountability and budget oversight.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, contracts, and risk management.
• Proven ability to develop senior leaders and high-performing teams.
• SPMP, PMP, CCM or equivalent, OSHA 30, First Aid / CPR.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for a portfolio of large, complex, and high-profile projects.
• Support Project Executives through all phases from pursuit to closeout.
• Set staffing, constructability, and logistics plans and ensure execution.
• Lead executive-level project reviews and intervene when needed.
• Maintain full P&L responsibility for all assigned projects.
• Oversee forecasting, margin performance, cash flow, and change strategy.
• Review financial performance and guide recovery planning when needed.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Project Executives.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operating standards.
• Partner with Safety and Quality to monitor trends and drive improvement.
• Manage client relationships and drive repeat business.
• Oversee subcontracting strategies and risk management.
• Lead portfolio-level risk identification and mitigation.
