Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Senior Director, Strategic Technology Initiatives Lead to connect Pfizer’s strategic technology programs with eight Digital Core Platforms. This leader will oversee Senior Technical Architects and align AI initiatives across the platform landscape.

The role requires senior leadership capabilities, governance, and the ability to orchestrate complex programs across the enterprise. Work location is Hybrid, with Bothell, WA as a key site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; 12+ years of leadership experience in technology strategy, architecture, or large-scale delivery.
• Experience leading technology strategy and delivering multiple concurrent initiatives and connecting them into a coherent enterprise direction.
• Proven ability to lead and develop senior technical talent, including architects and engineers.
• Experience advising senior leaders on technology direction, priorities, trade-offs, and measurable business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices, cloud platforms, data and integration patterns, AI-enabled delivery, security, reliability, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the connected technology strategy across strategic initiatives; ensure alignment with eight Digital Core Platforms and enterprise architecture standards.
• Drive platform alignment, reuse, and clean integration across initiatives.
• Lead ELT-level AI programs, translating priorities into coordinated initiatives with clear owners and measurable outcomes.
• Oversee a team of Senior Technical Architects; balance workload and maintain architecture quality across portfolio.
• Define how AI, automation, and modern engineering practices are applied responsibly to speed, quality, and governance.
• Provide leadership, communication, and organization to align stakeholders and foster a high-performing culture.
• Establish governance, reliability, security, and documentation expectations across initiatives.
