Job summary

ACS in Washington, DC is seeking an Assistant Director of Community Engagement to lead a cross-functional team and advance engagement across members, volunteers, and partners. The role reports to the Vice President, Membership & Strategic Engagement and will be based in our Washington, DC office.

The position requires a minimum of 10 years in community engagement or association management, with a strong track record in driving growth, retention, and loyalty through data-driven programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in community engagement, association management, or similar.
• Proven track record in growing member engagement and retention.
• Experience leading teams, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
• Strong understanding of lifecycle management and retention.
• Familiarity with engagement analytics and conversion tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead Community Engagement team and manage budget and resources.
• Develop engagement strategies to grow membership and loyalty.
• Collaborate across ACS units to align priorities and programs.
• Create scalable engagement models for students to retirees.
• Build dashboards and KPIs to show program impact and ROI.
