Job summary

Heven AeroTech in Sterling, Virginia, seeks a Senior Director of Capture Management to build and lead a new capture function for DoD and Federal civilian pursuits. Initially hands-on, you will run priority captures end-to-end, design a Shipley-based process, mentor the BD team, and collaborate with HR to align incentives with pipeline and revenue goals.

You will grow into leading a capture organization, establish plans, templates, and governance, and drive strategic relationships with partners

Qualifications

• 15+ years in DoD/Federal capture with full lifecycle ownership.
• Shipley-trained or certified; adapt capture processes for smaller teams.
• Proven track record of winning contracts.
• Experience maturing a capture function from ad hoc to formal.
• Knowledge of OTA, FAR/DFARS, and IDIQ/GWACs.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance; TS SCI FS Poly preferred.
• Willingness to start as individual contributor, then lead a team.
• Experience in UAS/aerospace/defense hardware or software.

Responsibilities

• Own capture strategy across the full lifecycle for DoD and Federal Civilian pursuits.
• Lead development of capture plans, win themes, and gate reviews.
• Mentor BD team on capture fundamentals and customer engagement.
• Build capture toolkit, templates, and metrics.
• Partner with HR to design a BD incentive plan.
• Attend customer meetings and support opportunity development.
• Lead hiring and onboarding for a capture team.
• Collaborate with Proposal, Contracts, Pricing, and PM teams.
• Present at board-level pipeline reviews and growth strategy sessions.
